BCG vaccine
The skin, where injected, may appear red and raised. Keep the vaccination site clean and dry. Do not apply pressure or bandage on the area. Ulcers will naturally heal in 2-3 months. If a big abscess or swollen glands appear on the same side of the body, please contact your doctor.
Hepatitis B vaccine
Normally, it causes no side effects.
DPT vaccine
Minor side-effects, such as local redness, warmth, induration without tenderness, mild fever, general malaise, fretfulness, and crying, are possible in the first two days. It will probably recover in 2-3 days. If the redness or induration continues or ulcer and high fever develop, please contact your doctor.
OPV vaccine
Normally, it causes no side effects. To prevent the vaccine from being diluted, do not drink or eat anything half an hour after taking the vaccine.
Measles vaccine
Fever is the most common side-effect that occurring in 5%-10% of vaccine recipients. It appears about 5~12 days after vaccination. On rare occasions, measles-like rash, rhinitis, slight coughing or Koplik spots might appear and may last 2~5 days.
Varicella vaccine
Soreness or swelling at the spot where the shot was given. Mild rash may develop about 5~26 days after vaccination around the injected spot or rarely at other area.
MMR vaccine
Just like the measles vaccine, on rare occasions, measles-like rash, rhinitis, slight coughing or fever appear about 5~12 days after vaccination.
Japanese Encephalitis vaccine
Normally, it causes no side effects.
